Hyderabad: A teenage boy was arrested on charges of harassing his female friend on Instagram in Bowenpally, police said on Friday.
The suspect, Samson Abhishek (19) from New Bhoiguda and the 19-year-old girl, a BTech student from Bowenpally, were friends since their school days. Recently, due to unknown reasons, she started avoiding him. Both argued a few times on the same issue, after which she stopped responding to his calls and messages and also decided to return the gifts he gave her for her birthday in January.
This angered Abhishek, who then created a fake Instagram account and posted abusive comments against her. When she sought help of a mutual friend to return the gifts to Abhishek, he also assaulted him and created nuisance at her house.
Based on a complaint from her parents, the Bowenpally police booked a case and arrested Abhishek.
