Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police on Wednesday arrested an 18-year-old teenager for raping and threatening a minor girl, reported on Tuesday.
The suspect who works at a welding shop in Khairathabad, and the 13-year-old victim are known to each other and belonged to the same neighbourhood.
According to the police, for the last four months, the suspect allegedly raped the girl several times in his house. He recorded the ‘act,’ and threatened her not to disclose it to anyone. The girl, who was scared of the consequences did not share it with anyone, until Tuesday, when her aunt enquired after noticing injuries on her.
Based on a complaint from the victim’s parents, the Punjagutta police booked a case and arrested the suspect.
Meanwhile, the girl was shifted to hospital for medical examination and later to the Bharosa Center for psychological help.
