Hyderabad: Security was strengthened at the counting centre at Aurora College in Bandlaguda following the alleged manhandling of a BJP worker by AIMIM party workers during the counting.
Soon after the incident, more reinforcements were rushed to the centre and security beefed up in the Jangammet Municipal Division. The AIMIM and BJP are fighting out a tough contest in the Jangammet division with the BJP leading with around 1500 votes.
DS Chauhan, Additional CP (Law and Order) and other senior officials reached the place and supervised the security arrangements. Additional police forces were rushed to the Jangammet locality as a precautionary measure as during the last GHMC elections there was stone pelting in the area.
