Hyderabad: Tensions escalated at communal surcharged Shamshabad in Ranga Reddy district after a self proclaimed controversial Naga Aghori visited the Hanuman temple at Airport colony on Wednesday.

Aghori said she was upset over the desecration of idols of deities in the temple early this month triggering protests in the area.

On Wednesday morning, the Aghori drove in her car to the temple and offered prayers. Later, the police reached the spot and asked to go away fearing another round of protest and law and order issues.

The Aghori confined herself to her car and threatened to self immolate herself. The police increased security in the area.
Senior officials are monitoring the situation.
