Hyderabad: Unidentified persons broke into a temple at Jagadish market, Abid Road in the city and decamped with ornaments in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the police, the burglars broke into Mahalaxmi temple between 3 am and 5 am and decamped with ornaments of the deity and also a hundi (donation box) kept inside the premises. A total of property worth Rs. 70,000 was taken away by the miscreants who also took away the Disk Video Recorder (DVR) set from the temple.
The temple priest who came in the morning noticed the door of the temple open and property missing alerted the police. A case is registered by the Abid Road police station and investigation taken up.
