Hyderabad: An unidentified person diverted the attention of a man and stole cash of Rs.70, 000 at Habsiguda here on Friday.

According to the police, the victim identified as Muthyam Reddy (49) was returning home on his bike after withdrawing the cash from a private bank in Habsiguda.

The suspect, who followed the victim on a motorcycle, stopped him on the road and on the pretext of advising to be careful with the cash bag, diverted the attention and escaped with the bag.

The Osmania University police are investigating.
