Hyderabad: Thousands rally against Waqf Amendment Act 2025, call it unconstitutional

People from all political backgrounds and various sections of society gathered at Nizam College Grounds on Sunday to join the rally, which proceeded to the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. Waving the national tricolour, the protestors raised slogans against the BJP-led government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hyderabad: Thousands of people took to the streets in the city on Sunday to protest against the Waqf Amendment Act (WAA) 2025.

Cutting across party lines people from all walks of life reached Nizam college grounds from where the rally started and reached Dr. B.R.Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. The participants in the rally carrying National tri-color raised slogans against the BJP led government and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The protestors termed the WAA as unconstitutional and introduced to target minorities and their wakf properties. Women in large numbers also attended the rally to register their protest.

Among those who attended the meeting are Member of Parliament Saharanpur – Imran Masood, TMREIS chairman – Faheem Qureshi, Advisor to Government on Minority Affairs – Mohd Ali Shabbir, and others. This apart, several social activists, student union leaders and prominent social media influencers attended the protest program.

The police made elaborate security arrangements for the rally. However, traffic jams were witnessed due to the rally in the central areas of the city.
