Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar police arrested three persons who allegedly kidnapped a woman and sexually assaulted her before killing her at Kismatpur ten days ago.

The arrested are Gulam Dastagir (26), a resident of Tolichowki, Mohd Imran (25) of Tolichowki and Meka Durga Reddy (33), from Langer Houz.

According to the DCP (Rajendranagar Cyberabad), Ch Srinivas, on September 14, Durga Reddy found the victim woman loitering at Aramgarh road and lured her into his auto rickshaw and bought a liquor bottle and biryani for her. He later took the woman to a secluded place at Satamrai, Shamshabad, sexually assaulted her there and dropped her at Aramgarh crossroads.

Dastagir and Imran, who were passing on the road, noticed the woman at Aramgarh and forced her into an auto rickshaw and took her to Kismatpur bridge, where they gang raped her. “When the woman resisted, Dastagir assaulted the woman with a stick, leading to her death. Dastagir and Imran fled away, leaving behind the body,” said Ch Srinivas, DCP Rajendranagar.

The police found the body the next day at an isolated place near the Kismatpur bridge and started an investigation. The Cyberabad Special Operations Team, along with the Rajendranagar police, checked the footage of the cameras installed on the roads leading to the crime spot and zeroed in on the auto rickshaw taken by Dastagir and Imran.

Based on the leads, the police picked them up, and on interrogation, they admitted to having killed the woman. The police, while conducting a crime scene reconstruction, noticed that someone had dropped the woman at Aramgarh. The police then identified the person as Durga Reddy, who was also questioned, and he admitted to having sexually assaulted the woman at Satamrai and dropping her at Aramgarh. All three persons are arrested and remanded.
