Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police took into custody three persons who were allegedly involved in a case of murder.
The arrested are Gogula Srikanth (34), Puliashramane Anand (35) and Ambati Venkatesh (23).
According to the police, the victim Maddasani Yashwanth, (25) was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a hostel room in Gachibowli, on September 2. The hostel is managed by Gogula Srikanth, brother in –law of Yashwanth.
Yashwanth who stayed in a room in the hostel and was in search of a job was found hanging to the ceiling fan in the hostel room. On coming to know about it the family shifted the body to their native place Chittoor district in AP. However, the family members of Yashwanth suspected a foul play in the death and approached the Gachibowli police who took up investigation.
Basing on some leads the police picked up Srikanth and interrogated him. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to have killed Yashwanth with the help of hired killers.
“Two persons Anand and Venkatesh strangulated Yeshwanth to death in the room and hanged his body to the ceiling fan to make it appear as if the man died by suicide. Both of them were paid Rs. 10 lakh for the job by Srikanth,” said a police official.
Srikanth is addicted to online gambling and suffered huge losses and facing financial problems. He thought killing Yashwanth was the only way to get the family assets and clear his debts amounting to nearly Rs. 4 crores.
