Hyderabad: Three youths drown while swimming in Gandipet lake
Three young men from Ibrahim Bagh drowned while swimming in Gandipet lake in Rangareddy district on Sunday. Police, with the help of locals and swimmers, conducted a search operation and retrieved their bodies from the water on Monday. A case is under investigation
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, three young men accidentally drowned in a lake while swimming at Gandipet in Rangareddy district on Sunday.
Their bodies were retrieved from the lake on Monday.
The trio has been identified as Karthik (25), Govardhan (23), and Venkatesh (25), all residents of the Ibrahim Bagh area.
According to the police, the youths entered the lake to swim but accidentally moved into a deeper portion of the water and began drowning. Local villagers who noticed them immediately alerted the police.
On receiving information, the police reached the spot and, with the help of locals and expert swimmers, carried out a search operation, but halted the operation at night. They retrieved the bodies from the water on Monday.
The case is being investigated.
