Hyderabad to face 36-hour water supply disruption from January 10
Several parts of Hyderabad will face a 36-hour drinking water supply disruption from January 10 to 11 due to maintenance works on pumping mains and reservoirs, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board announced on Thursday.

Hyderabad: Certain areas of Hyderabad are set to face a 36-hour interruption in drinking water supply from 6 am on January 10 to 6 pm on January 11.
The areas affected by the disruption include Vanasthalipuram, Autonagar, areas under the Autonagar reservoir, Vaishali Nagar, Nagole, Badangpet, Lenin Nagar, Adibatla, areas under the Kammaguda reservoir, areas under the Balapur reservoir, Barkas, Maisaram, areas under the Yellugutta reservoir, Nacharam, Tarnaka, Buddh Nagar, Nallagutta, Lalapet, Marredpally, Prakash Nagar, Patigadda, Mekalamandi, areas under the Mahendra Hills Reservoir, areas under the Mekalamandi reservoir, MES, Railways and the Secunderabad Cantonment Board, Hashmatpet, Gautham Nagar, Ferozguda, areas under the Madhuban Reservoir, Shastripuram, partially Prashasan Nagar, and the National Police Academy.
In an official release on Thursday, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) said the disruption is due to maintenance works, including addressing a leak on the pumping main from Kodandapur to Godakandla, replacement of damaged air tees and valves, junction work at Nasarla Palli, and replacement of damaged butterfly valves and NRVs in various locations.
The maintenance work will be carried out for 36 hours, from 6 am on Saturday, January 10, to 6 pm on Sunday, January 11. Consumers have been advised to use water sparingly during the period, the release said.
