Hyderabad: A Regional Ring Road (RRR) extending for 340 kilometres is in the works for the capital, with Finance Minister T Harish Rao stating in the Assembly on Monday that land acquisition works for the RRR had already begun in the Northern part of the city.
“As Hyderabad city is expanding very rapidly, the Government has proposed that there should be a Regional Ring Road (RRR), in addition to the Outer Ring Road. Apart from easing the traffic congestion, RRR would reduce the time taken to travel from the districts to Hyderabad,” he said, adding that the proposed regional Ring Road would be built beyond 30 km from the Outer Ring Road, over a length of 340 km.
“This RRR road will certainly give a fillip to the development of the State. The land acquisition works in the Northern part of the Regional Ring Road have already commenced,” he added.
