Hyderabad to host FIH Women’s World Cup qualifiers in 2026
Hyderabad will host the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup hockey qualifiers at Gachibowli, along with the Asian Rowing Championship and Hyderabad International Chess Festival. The city will also see major sports infrastructure projects including a FIFA-AIFF Football Academy and Dream Valley Golf Resorts

Hyderabad: Hyderabad will host the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup hockey qualifiers featuring eight countries at the Gachibowli Hockey Complex here, according to a media release on Tuesday.
The city will also host the Asian Rowing Championship featuring 18 countries next year, besides the Hyderabad International Chess Festival.
It was also informed that the GMR Sports Future City Project will feature the development of a Satellite Sports City, and India Extreme Adventure will invest about Rs 500 crores to set up extreme sports, adventure and e-sports arena spread over 20 acres.
The FIFA-AIFF Football Academy will also be set up in the city, while Dream Valley Golf and Resorts will come up near Hyderabad at a cost of Rs 1000 crores.
