Hyderabad to host HIPLEX 2026: PET bottle T-shirts, plastic roads to feature in recycling pavilion

India’s third-largest plastics expo, HIPLEX 2026, takes place from August 7 to 10 at HITEX, Hyderabad. The event’s Recycling Pavilion will highlight circular economy innovations, including converting 25 PET bottles into T-shirts, plastic roads, and eco-friendly houses

Hyderabad: HIPLEX 2026, India’s third-largest plastics exhibition, will be held from August 7 to 10 at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad.

One of the biggest attractions of Recycling Pavilion at the exhibition will demonstrate how just 25 discarded PET bottles can be transformed into a stylish T-shirt, highlighting the rapidly growing ‘bottle-to-fashion’ movement. Visitors will also discover how plastic waste is being converted into roads, railway sleepers, bricks, construction materials, benches, bus shelters, outdoor furniture and even houses.

India has emerged as one of the world’s most innovative users of recycled plastics. The country has already built over 1 lakh km of roads using waste plastic, making it one of the global leaders in plastic road technology. Plastic railway sleepers are also emerging as sustainable alternatives to timber, helping save trees while offering greater durability.

The exhibition will also showcase global trends that are redefining recycling. Countries including India, the Netherlands, Colombia and Mexico have demonstrated houses built using recycled plastic components.
