Hyderabad: After the overnight showers on Friday, many areas of Hyderabad received a few bouts of rains on Saturday, with weather experts predicting more rains, though light and moderate, for the city on Sunday and Monday as well.

On Saturday, though the sky cleared up around afternoon, the bright sun did not get much time to shine, with the clouds taking over again. The drizzles continued across the city, with the temperature also dipping as a result. Though the maximum temperature recorded in the day was 27 degree Celsius, the same dipped to about 24 degree Celsius by 6 pm. The minimum temperature recorded last night was 21.5 degree Celsius.


Several localities in the city, from Uppal, Saidabad and Charminar to Hayathnagar, Bahadurpura and Amberpet, witnessed light showers upto 7 mm. Bandlaguda received the highest rainfall of 7.8 mm till 7 pm. According to officials at the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, the city was likely to witness light to moderate showers for the next two days, and would continue to have a thick cover of clouds for a few more days.

According to data recorded at various Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), most parts of the city were likely receive up to 2.5 mm rainfall on Sunday and Monday. It was likely that the city might experience a drizzly Tuesday as well.

Meanwhile, many districts also reported light to moderate rainfall. Districts including Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhongir, Suryapet, Nagarkurnool and Warangal received rainfall upto 26.3 mm. Gunegal in Rangareddy received the highest rainfall of 26.8 mm.
