Hyderabad: Toddler killed in Narsingi road accident on Diwali
A toddler died and his father was injured when a speeding car hit their motorcycle in Narsingi on Diwali. Police arrested the car driver, who has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and investigations are ongoing
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a toddler died while his father was injured after a rashly driven car hit their motorcycle at Alkapuri Colony in Narsingi on Monday.
The incident occurred when the father-son duo was returning after buying crackers on Diwali day.
According to police, Naveen Kumar, a resident of Narsingi, was returning home from Khajaguda after buying firecrackers with his son Kushan Joel on his two-wheeler. As they reached Alkapuri, a car allegedly driven at high speed by Praveen Kumar, a software employee, hit their bike from behind.
The impact threw both father and the son into the air, and the car reportedly ran over the child. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kushan Joel succumbed to his injuries on the way and was declared dead by the doctors in the hospital.
Naveen Kumar suffered serious injuries.
Based on a complaint, the Narsingi Police took up an investigation and arrested the car driver. He was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
