Hyderabad: Tolichowki murder cracked in 24 hours; friend held over mobile phone dispute
The Tolichowki Police arrested an electrician who allegedly killed his friend, a 25-year-old autorickshaw driver, after a quarrel over a mobile phone. The accused was caught within a day from a lodge in Hakeempet, and the stolen phone was recovered.
Hyderabad: The Tolichowki Police cracked a murder case within 24 hours by arresting the suspect who allegedly strangulated a 25-year-old auto driver to death over a mobile phone dispute.
The victim, identified as Mohd Muzzamil alias Ayub, was found dead in his auto near SS Function Hall in Tolichowki on Thursday.
Police investigations revealed that he had consumed alcohol with friends, including Mohammed Ishaque alias Khalid, an electrician from Shaheen Nagar, the previous night.
Following a quarrel over Muzzamil’s mobile phone, Khalid allegedly strangulated him with a wire and fled with the phone.
Based on CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts, police nabbed the suspect from a lodge in Hakeempet on Friday morning.
A mobile phone and the victim’s autorickshaw were seized.
