Hyderabad: The Tolichowki Police cracked a murder case within 24 hours by arresting a suspect who allegedly strangled a 25-year-old auto driver to death over a mobile phone dispute.
The victim, identified as Mohd Muzzamil alias Ayub, was found dead in his auto near SS Function Hall in Tolichowki on Thursday.
                            
                                            
                
                
    
Police investigations revealed that he had consumed alcohol with his friends, including Mohammed Ishaque alias Khalid, an electrician from Shaheen Nagar, the previous night.
Following a quarrel over Muzzamil’s mobile phone, Khalid allegedly strangled him with a wire and fled with the phone.
Based on CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts, the police nabbed the suspect from a lodge in Hakeempet on Friday morning.
A mobile phone and the victim’s autorickshaw were seized.
