Hyderabad: Amin Ahmed Ansari, a towering 7-foot-tall individual, working as bus conductor at Mehdipatnam bus depot is facing quite unique challenges in performing his duties. While the roof height of the bus is just 6.4 feet, Ahmed who is taller struggles even to stand straight and mostly has to perform his duties with a bent head.

With this, Ahmed had to face persistent neck and back pain due to the cramped working conditions and go around hospitals to get treated for the ailments.

A resident of Shaheen Nagar in Chandrayangutta, Ahmed’s father worked as a Head Constable at Kacheguda bus depot. He died of illness in 2021 and Ahmed, who completed his intermediate, was appointed as bus conductor under compassionate grounds.

Since he is seven-feet-tall, performing his duties has become a challenge. He has to travel for up to 10 hours in five trips on average in buses every day.

Passengers, who noticed him, had requested RTC higher authorities to respond and give him some other job within the RTC.

Fortunately, Ahmed’s plight has caught the attention of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Responding to the issue, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stepped in, directing TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar to find a more suitable role for Ahmed.
