Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police launched a special drive against tinted film on windows and irregular number plates on vehicles on Saturday.
Traffic teams were seen waiving down vehicles with tinted film on their windows and removing the same.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) AV Ranganath said Supreme Court orders on the use of tinted films were being implemented.
“No exemption will be granted to anybody except for people falling under ‘Z’ and ‘Z plus’ security categories,” he said, adding that fines would be imposed under various Sections of the M Act against violators.
The Traffic police also seized vehicles wherein the owners were tampering with registration numbers. The police also said stickers of Police, Press, MLA, Corporator and Government vehicle would also attract action as per Motor Vehicle Rules.
