Hyderabad: Transgender protest turns violent at Borabanda, three injured

At Borabanda, a group of transgender persons protesting against a rival group set themselves on fire, injuring three. Police at the scene also suffered burns while rescuing them. The injured were taken to Gandhi Hospital, and an investigation is underway

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Borabanda when a group of transgender persons, as part of a protest against their rival group, doused themselves with petrol and set themselves ablaze.

As per reports, three persons suffered injuries and were immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital.


The incident occurred when the transgender persons were staging a protest against another group, alleging harassment and false cases against them.

It is learnt that police personnel who were present there rushed to their rescue and, in the process, suffered burns.

The Borabanda police are investigating.
