Hyderabad: Trio held for chain snatching in Tolichowki

The police told the reporters that the suspects were involved in similar offences at various police stations across the city.

Hyderabad: The Tolichowki police nabbed three chain snatchers and recovered a gold chain worth Rs 1.5 lakh and a few mobile phones from the accused persons on Tuesday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Keshav, Shyam Sunder and Suraj while their associates are currently absconding. The police have launched a manhunt for other suspects.

According to the police complaint, the accused committed the offence by diverting the attention of victim Babu during his journey on a TGSRTC bus and stole his gold chain worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

The police told the reporters that the suspects were involved in similar offences at various police stations across the city and were kept in jail. However, after being released from the prison, they continued chain snatchings by targeting people in crowded places and buses.
