Hyderabad: Twin brothers died after falling into chemical sump at Jeedimetla

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, two twin brothers died allegedly after accidentally falling into a sump filled with chemical solution at Saboori Pharma Company at the industrial area in Jeedimetla on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when the victims – Ramu (32) and Laxman (32), went to the company which was shut for a long time, for taking up renovation work.


Police said the company was opened by the authorities for taking up maintenance and renovation work and the twins were called for the same. Renovation was being done to reopen it.

“They took up the cleaning of the chemical waste the pharma company. In the process, one of them accidentally falls into the chemical sump and the other who tried to save him too fell inside and both fell unconscious. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where they died under treatment,” said a police official.

Another worker identified as Surender Reddy fell seriously ill and being treated in the hospital.

The Jeedimetla police are investigating.
