Hyderabad: Two arrested for cricket betting in Gudimalkapur

The arrested persons are Mujeeb Jahangir Khan Mohammed, a main bookie from Mehdipatnam and Mohd Mujtaba Ali, a punter from Shastripuram.

Hyderabad: The Task Force (South-East) team along with the local police arrested two persons for cricket betting at Gudimalkapur on Friday night.

Officials seized cash of Rs 18,000, a laptop and 3 mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 1.7 lakh.

The arrested persons are Mujeeb Jahangir Khan Mohammed, a main bookie from Mehdipatnam and Mohd Mujtaba Ali, a punter from Shastripuram.

Police said Mujeeb was clandestinely organising cricket betting with known punter on all cricket matches from a rented house in Gudimalkapur.

The arrested persons and seized material were handed over to the Gudimalkapur police for further action.
