Hyderabad: The immersion of Ganesh idols in the city and suburbs continued for the second day on Sunday afternoon, with a total of 2.70 lakh idols being immersed.
The GHMC Commissioner, RV Karnan, in a statement, said the Ganesh idols immersion event concluded with good planning and robust arrangements.
A large number of vehicles, small and big, carrying the idols were seen queued up at the water bodies for immersion through Saturday night and till Sunday morning. Cranes continued to operate at designated points at water bodies and artificial ponds and Hussain Sagar.
The GHMC said that potholes and road repairs were undertaken along the 303-kilometre route of the immersion procession in the city, ensuring the procession proceeded smoothly, safely, and swiftly.
