Hyderabad: Two held in gold theft case, ornaments worth Rs 2.4 lakh seized

Hyderabad: The Mangalhat Police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with a gold chain theft case and recovered gold jewellery worth Rs 2.48 lakh from them.
The arrested persons were identified as Upadi Bolenath alias U Bholanath (42) and Mohd Khadeer (26).
Police said both were repeat offenders, with Bolenath involved in 70 cases and Khadeer involved in 66 cases across different police commissionerates.
During questioning, they also confessed to several recent theft cases in Hyderabad and its suburbs.
Man sentenced to 25-year RI for minor’s rape in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment for a period of 25 years in the rape case of a minor girl reported at Monda Market in 2024. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.
The convict Arun Kumar Jha (45), a security guard from Bihar and currently residing in Secunderabad, had forcibly taken the girl to the fourth floor of a shopping complex he was working and raped her.
Based on a complaint from the girl’s mother, the Monda Market police had booked a case and arrested Arun Kumar.
The court also ordered a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the victim.
