Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police on Thursday apprehended two juveniles on charges of stalking and harassing a minor girl by creating a fake account on Instagram.
Cybercrime officials said one of the juveniles was infatuated with the girl and told the same to his friend, seeking advice on how to become her friend and to approach her. As per his advice, he created a fake Instagram account impersonating her friend and sent her a follow request.
“He started chatting with her posing as her female friend for a few days. Recently, he asked her to share her private pictures, which she refused to send. The duo then started threatening her to upload her morphed pictures on social media,” an official said.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the Cybercrime police booked a case and with the help of technical evidence, traced and apprehended them. They were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
