Hyderabad: The Chandanagar police arrested two more persons allegedly involved in the dacoity at Khazana jewellery store last week. Four suspects in the case were earlier arrested by the police.
The arrested are Prince Kumar Bharathi and Rohit Kumar Rajak alias Rohiit Baitha, who fired upon the deputy manager of the Khazana jewellery store while carrying out the heist on August 12. Four suspects, Aashish Kumar Singh, Deepak Kumar Sah, Anish Kumar and Kumar Rajak, were arrested earlier by the Cyberabad police from Maharashtra.
On August 12, the six-member gang barged into the Khazana jewellery store located on Chandanagar road and, after firing at the deputy manager, looted silver articles from the store.
The gang looted around 10 kg of silver articles with gold colour coating and escaped from the spot. Special teams constituted by the Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty tracked down a few suspects to Maharashtra and nabbed them, while the latest arrest of two suspects was made from Ankleshwar in Gujarat.
The Cyberabad police requested the management of jewellery shops to ensure adequate security mechanisms during operational hours and to install intrusion alarm panels connected to the nearest police stations to thwart such incidents.
