Hyderabad: A local court sentenced a man to 10 years of rigourous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.1 lakh for raping a minor girl at his house in Jawaharnagar. The court also awarded a compensation of Rs. 3 lakh to the victim.
The victim, aged around 15 years, had got acquainted with the man in 2017 at Jawaharnagar when she went seeking alms along with her parents. The man befriended her parents, both of whom were visually challenged, and said he needed an accommodation in Jawaharnagar, following which they arranged an accommodation in their colony.
On the pretext of meeting them, the man went to their house, where he lured the victim to a room and after offering her sedatives, raped her. He continued sexually assaulting the victim after threatening her until she complained to the police through her parents in December 2017.
In another case, a local court sentenced a man to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.4,000 for kidnapping a minor girl on the pretext of marriage.
The man, Deepak Bhuiya (20), a native of Jharkhand, had kidnapped the victim aged around 14 years on the pretext of marrying her and took her to Gachibowli where he confined her. On a complaint, the police booked a case and arrested him.
