Hyderabad: Two-wheeler rider held for allegedly abusing traffic cop

Hyderabad: Nampally police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old two-wheeler rider for allegedly obstructing, intimidating and abusing traffic police personnel while they were regulating traffic at Taj Island Junction on Monday.
According to police, home guard K Ravinder of the Abids traffic police station was deployed at the junction. Ravinder photographed a two-wheeler allegedly being ridden by the rider without a helmet.
“The rider, identified as Mohd Rizwan, took a U-turn, approached Ravinder from the wrong side and allegedly abused him. His wife also allegedly joined the confrontation and recorded the incident on her mobile phone. The couple allegedly obstructed the traffic personnel before fleeing the spot,” police said.
A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. Rizwan was apprehended on Tuesday and the motorcycle was seized.
