Hyderabad: Two-year-old boy drowns in sump at Medchal

The incident occurred when the parents of the boy opened the lid of the sump, took water to wash hands and later forgot to put the cover on it

Hyderabad: A two-year-old boy drowned in a sump at Malakpet village under Genome Valley police station limits in Medchal on Tuesday. According to the police, the boy, Aryan Kumar, lived along with his three siblings and parents in Malakpet. The parents of the boy worked as daily wagers.

On Tuesday afternoon, the parents came home along with the boy. They opened the lid of the sump, took water to wash hands and later forgot to put the cover on it.

After having lunch, the parents found the child missing and started searching for him. After some time, they noticed the child fell into the sump. The child was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. A case was registered.
