University of Hyderabad professor dies in accident in Udaipur
Prof. Bhavani and her daughter were travelling on a two-wheeler when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and both fell off the bike, with Prof. Bhavani coming under a speeding truck.
Hyderabad: Professor Bhavani Aadimulam, a Hindi instructor with the University of Hyderabad for the Study in India Programme as well as alumnus of the Department of Hindi at the University, died in an accident at Udaipur in Rajasthan on Tuesday. She was 40.
Prof. Bhavani and her daughter were travelling on a two-wheeler when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and both fell off the bike, with Prof. Bhavani coming under a speeding truck. She died on the spot while her daughter survived with minor injuries.
Prof. Bhavani was working with Shikshantar Andolan in Udaipur in the areas of education and spreading awareness on the environment and more. An expert in Hindi language, she was instrumental in setting up Aksharavani, an institution within the UoH that provides education to children of labourers in and around the university.
