University of Hyderabad Students’ Union election results are expected Tuesday after around 80 percent of 5,900 votes were polled. A total of 220 candidates contested nine central posts and 59 school board councillor seats, with counting scheduled for afternoon

Hyderabad: After smooth conduct of polling on Monday, all eyes are on the University of Hyderabad Students’ Union election results, which are slated to be announced on Tuesday.
Around 80 percent out of 5,900 votes were polled. As many as 220 candidates were in fray for nine central posts and 59 school board councillor seats across 13 schools.
The All India Students’ Association (AISA), Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA), Dalit Students’ Union (DSU), Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Tribal Students’ Forum (TSF) formed an alliance and fielded Dilshada Raihan as its presidential candidate, while PDSU-MSF-NSUI-Fraternity alliance fielded K. Naveen Kumar. Naresh Podishetti of ABVP-SLVD contested for the presidential post.
Similarly, Muhammad Aflah KK, Venisa Choudhary and Pratik Sagar contested for general secretary on the three alliance panels.
“Votes have already been segregated and made into bundles. The counting will begin in the afternoon and results are expected to be announced in the night,” said a UoH official.
