Hyderabad: Upset over losing his mother to cancer, a man died, allegedly by suicide, at Kachiguda on Thursday. He was found hanging at the crematorium where her last rites were held.

Vinod Kumar (36), an auto-rickshaw driver was unmarried and stayed with his mother Laxmi Bai (60) and younger brother Vijay Kumar at Shyam Nagar in Golnaka. Laxmi Bai’s husband Nagender died when Vinod and Vijay were still children and since then she had taken care of them.

Police said Vinod, who was very much attached to his mother, was depressed after she passed away due to cancer on Tuesday. Her body was cremated at the crematorium at Harrajpenta in Golnaka on Wednesday.

Vinod was found hanging at the crematorium premises on Thursday. He was found dead by the caretaker, who alerted the Kachiguda police, who booked a case and took up investigation.
