Hyderabad: On his last day as the Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), senior IPS officer V.C. Sajjanar chose to express his deep connection with public transport in a unique way , by travelling on a city bus like a common passenger.
Sajjanar boarded the 113 I/M route bus at Lakdikapul–Telephone Bhavan bus stop and travelled up to Bus Bhavan, the TGSRTC headquarters.
Unlike an official or a dignitary, he opted to travel like any ordinary commuter, making a UPI payment to the conductor and collecting his ticket.
During the journey, the outgoing MD interacted warmly with fellow passengers, listening to their experiences and views about public transport.
Throughout his tenure, Sajjanar is known to have introduced several reforms aimed at improving passenger convenience, including the promotion of digital ticketing and strengthening safety measures.
