Hyderabad: The valedictory session of the 43rd all India Accounting Conference and international seminar on Accounting Education and Research was held at Tagore Auditorium, Osmania University (OU) campus here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Telangana State Council of Higher Education Vice Chairman Prof V Venkata Ramana shared his life experiences about accounting and spoke on the need for Indian organisations to follow human resource accounting.
Signode India Limited Managing Director Gaurav Maheshwari said in the dynamic technological era thinking ahead of a day was not enough, thinking ahead of 20 years was a minimum time span required especially in streams like accounting.
Technology would take over all basic accounting activities. Hence, accountants have to focus on research and innovations, which was the only solution from being outdated, Maheshwari said.
OU Registrar Prof P Laxminarayana stressed on the evolving nature of accounting and the need for students to keep up with the changing scenarios and get updated.
OSD to Vice Chancellor OU Prof B Reddya Naik spoke on the importance of networking and the importance of being skillful enough to make interpretations out of the available data which was the need of the hour. The ‘best paper’ awards were presented on the occasion.
