Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the government over its continuous demolition drives, destroying homes of people and animals in the name of environmental protection and development. He questioned whether Revanth Reddy was running a government or a bulldozer company.

In a post on X, Rama Rao said the Revanth Reddy government had first bulldozed the homes of many poor people in the name of environmental protection for the Musi Riverfront Development Project. Later, he said the government went after the tribal hamlets in Lagacherla and surrounding areas under the pretext of development, calling them barren lands which were good for nothing.

First – you bulldozed the homes of many poor people in the name of environmental protection!

Next, you went after the tribal hamlets in the name of development. Barren lands and even lizards won’t lay eggs, you had said

“Now, you have come after homes of animals (at University of Hyderabad) and committing mass murder. Your justification – development, government land?” he asked.

The former Minister lashed out at Revanth Reddy, questioning whether the latter was an elected representative or a real estate agent. He also asked whether the latter was running a government or a bulldozer company. He stated that the Chief Minister’s motto is destruction and filling his coffers.

He also raised concerns over the timing of the land clearance at Hyderabad Central University (HCU), asking why bulldozers worked non-stop over the weekend and even at night.

“What are you hiding? Why this rush? Why are you afraid of the court?” he asked, suggesting that the government was attempting to avoid legal restrictions.
