Hyderabad: Vigilance teams intercept vehicles, levy over Rs 12 lakh in taxes

Hyderabad: The Vigilance and Enforcement officials of the Ramachandrapuram unit, along with officials from the Mines, State Tax, and RTA Departments, conducted a surprise route check on the outskirts of Muthangi and Patancheru, intercepting 16 vehicles during the intervening night of October 9 and 10.
Cases were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act, Mines Act, and GST Act for non-payment of tax, overloading, transport without transit forms, non-payment of royalties, and GST evasion. The total tax levied amounted to Rs 6.70 lakh.
On the intervening night of October 10 and 11, the Vigilance and Enforcement officials of the Hyderabad Rural Unit, along with officials from the Mines, Commercial Tax, and RTA Departments, conducted a surprise route check at Kokapet in Ranga Reddy district.
The teams intercepted vehicles and booked 19 cases under the Motor Vehicles Act and 15 cases under the Mines and Minerals Act. The total tax levied was approximately Rs 6.16 lakh.
