Hyderabad: VNR VJIET to host Smart India Hackathon 2025 hardware edition Grand Finale
VNR VJIET in Hyderabad has been chosen by the Ministry of Education as a Nodal Centre to host the Smart India Hackathon 2025 Hardware Edition Grand Finale. The event will bring 150 top students from 22 institutes to compete for national honours.

Hyderabad: VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology (VNR VJIET), Hyderabad, has been chosen by the Ministry of Education (MoE) as a Nodal Centre to host the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 – Hardware Edition from December 8 to 12.
Organised in collaboration with AICTE and the MoE’s Innovation Cell, this recognition places VNR VJIET at the centre of India’s largest student-driven innovation movement. SIH 2025 has seen record-breaking participation nationally, with over 72,000 idea submissions and more than 68,000 teams, making this selection a moment of significant pride for the institute.
An initiative of the Ministry of Education, SIH is among the country’s most transformative innovation platforms, encouraging students to solve real-world challenges through technology-driven solutions. From a nationwide internal hackathon process involving 2,587 institutes and over 8 lakh students, the Grand Finale now brings together an impressive cohort of 25 student groups, representing 150 students from 22 premier institutes across 10 states, who will compete at VNR VJIET for the national title.
