Hyderabad: VPG hoopsters triumph in Christmas Cup Tournament

VPG defeated YMCA 11-8 to clinch the Under-19 boys’ title in the FIBA-endorsed 3x3 Christmas Cup Basketball Tournament held at the YMCA of Greater Hyderabad, Secunderabad, on Monday.

In the Under-16 category, NPA edged past Necklace Pride with a narrow 9-8 victory to secure the boys’ title, while Holy Family triumphed over HPS 9-6 to win the girls’ crown. Pride B and Banning Stars emerged victorious in the Under-14 boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. The three-day tournament, featuring 38 teams, was played in a League-cum-knockout format under FIBA 3X3 rules.
