Hyderabad Water Board seizes 17 illegal motors during raids in city
The Hyderabad Water Board seized 17 illegal motors during inspections in Secunderabad as part of a crackdown on unauthorised water extraction. Officials warned of fines and legal action against repeat offenders and urged consumers to report supply issues through official channels.

Hyderabad: The HMWSSB vigilance wing officials conducted inspections and seized motors that were illegally attached to Water Board pipelines to draw water, as part of a drive against people using motors to extract water illegally.
A press release said on Thursday that on April 22, at 4 am, officials from the Secunderabad Zone O and M Division 17 inspected the surrounding areas of Gandhinagar during water supply and seized 17 motors that were illegally attached to the pipelines.
The Water Board said action would be taken against any consumers caught attaching motors to their water connections as per Water Board regulations, and the motors would be seized. It said that if motors were attached a second time, a fine of Rs 5,000 would be imposed and cases would be registered. The Water Board requested consumers not to attach motors to their connections.
The Water Board said that if there was low pressure in the water supply or any other issues, consumers should contact HMWSSB manager, DGM or GM officials nearby or call the Water Board customer care number 155313 to file a complaint, and appropriate action would be taken to resolve the issues.
