Hyderabad: A woman approached the Rachakonda Cybercrime Police complaining harassment from an unidentified person posing as a CID official.
The 30-year-old woman, stated in her complaint that in the last week of October, she received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. Within a few minutes, an unknown person made a video call from the same number and started harassing her. Police said the suspect told the victim that he saw her at a function and liked her. He began pressurising her to meet in person, which she refused. He started sending obscene photos and videos to her.
Unable to take the harassment, when she confronted him, the suspect claimed to be a CID official and threatened her. When she blocked the number, she started receiving messages and calls from another mobile number from the same person.
Based on her complaint, the Rachakonda Cybercrime police booked a case and are investigating.
