Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP), along with the Eagle Team and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), busted an interstate drug peddling racket and nabbing a woman seized marijuana worth Rs 8.2 lakh at Begumpet railway station on Wednesday.

The woman, identified as Mamatha Digal of Navi Mumbai and a native of Odisha, was found moving suspiciously with two trolley suitcases. On inspection, police discovered nine packets of marijuana concealed inside the bags.

During questioning, she reportedly admitted that she was promised Rs 10,000 per suitcase by a Mumbai-based person, Ashok, to transport the contraband from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai. Acting on his instructions, she travelled to Bhubaneswar, where an unidentified person handed over the suitcases before she boarded the Konark Express.
