Hyderabad: A woman police constable from Jawaharnagar who was injured in a road crash died while under treatment late on Wednesday night. 

The cop, identified as Jyothsna (23), from Badangpet was posted at Jawaharnagar police station since one year and was returning home after duty on October 12, when the incident occurred.

According to the police, when the scooter driven by Jyothsna reached near Moula Ali, she skidded and fell and suffered injuries. The scooter fell on her and caught fire.

“The fire from the vehicle spread to her immediately and she suffered about 50  percent burns on her both legs. She was shifted to a private hospital, where she died under treatment,” said an official.

The Malkajgiri police are investigating.
