Hyderabad woman dies in road accident in Chicago

A Hyderabad native died in a road accident in Chicago. The victim Srija Varma of Dundigal was walking when she was hit by a truck in Chicago. She died on the spot.

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a young woman from the city reportedly died in a road crash in Chicago in the United States.

As per available information, Srija Varma (23), daughter of Srinu Rao from Balaji Nagar in Gandi Maisamma area in Dundigal had moved to the US some time ago for higher studies and was residing in Chicago.


On Monday night, while walking to a nearby restaurant from her apartment for having dinner, she was allegedly hit from behind by a speeding truck. Srija suffered multiple grievous injuries and died on the spot.

Srija’s relatives have sought the assistance of Telugu associations in the US to bring her mortal remains back to India at the earliest.
