Hyderabad: Woman dies, three critical after alleged suicide attempt in Jagathgirigutta
A woman died while three members of her family were hospitalised in critical condition following an alleged suicide attempt in Jagathgirigutta. Police said financial distress pushed the family into depression, leading to the tragic incident. A case has been registered.
Hyderabad: A woman died while three others are battling for life at a hospital during a suicide attempt at Vijayanagar colony, Jagathgirigutta on Wednesday night.
According to the police, a businessman, Satish Kumar, stayed at a flat along with his wife Amani, son Nitin Kumar and daughter Srijavali. For the last few years, Satish Kumar was facing financial problems and the family slipped into depression over it. On Monday evening, the family decided to end their lives.
The police suspect Satish Kumar and his son Nitin Kumar cut the wrist of his daughter Srijavali, who is physically disabled.
After killing Srijavali, the trio Nitin Kumar, Satish Kumar and Amani had consumed sleeping pills and then cut their wrist using sharp objects and lay down near the body of Srijavali expecting to die soon.
On Wednesday, Nitin changed his mind and called his friend over the phone seeking help. The police were then informed about it and soon teams rushed to the house of Satish to check what had happened.
To the shock of the police officials, Srijavali, was lying dead, while the three others Satish, Nitin and Amani, were lying on the floor with the husband and wife nearly lifeless.
The police called in the ambulances and shifted the three persons to hospital for treatment. During preliminary enquiries the police found that Satish and Nitin had slit the wrist of Srijavali due to which the woman had died.
The police registered a case and are investigating.
