Hyderabad: A gruesome murder in Balapur sent shockwaves through the area on Monday morning, after a woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover, who then packed her body in a gunny bag and fled.
According to police, the victim, Rehana, and the suspect Mohammed Salam, were in a relationship and were residing in Bismillah Colony.
As per information available, Rehana had reportedly been pressuring Salam to marry her for quite some time. This angered Salam.
Police suspect that the repeated pressure over marriage led to an argument, following which Salam allegedly attacked Rehana with a knife and killed her.
He then reportedly placed her body inside a gunny bag, kept it in the bedroom and escaped from the house.
The Balapur police reached the spot after the incident came to light and began an investigation.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that both Rehana and Salam are natives of Bihar.
Police teams are putting efforts to trace and nab the suspect.
