Hyderabad: A woman allegedly died by suicide at her flat in Chandra Nayak Thanda at Madhapur, in the early hours of the Sunday.
According to the police, the woman, Archana Choudhari Malik, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had been in a relationship with her colleague, Bhandari Vimal, a native of Uttarakhand, for the past four years.
According to preliminary information, Vimal’s marriage had been undergoing divorce proceedings in connection with the relationship.
“At around 2.30 a.m., while Vimal was attending a function with his mother at Cheryala, Archana reportedly made a video call to him, showing a chunni tied to the ceiling fan and threatening to end her life if he did not marry her. She then disconnected the call. When Vimal tried to reach her she did not respond to his repeated calls, Vimal rushed to her flat at around 5.30 a.m. and found the door locked from inside. Following a call the patrol police reached the spot and forced open the door, where they found her dead,” said the Madhapur police.
The Clues Team examined the scene, and the body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. The case is under investigation.
