Hyderabad: The Narcotics Control Bureau caught a woman passenger at RGI Airport, Shamshabad, and seized 40.2 kg of hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 14 crore.
NCB officials said the woman had procured the ganja from Bangkok, travelled to Dubai, and from there took a flight to India. She was held during checking at RGI Airport by NCB officials, who were waiting for her based on a tip-off.
“The woman preferred to come to India from Bangkok via Dubai, as in the past some people coming directly from Bangkok with ganja were caught. She wanted to con the authorities,” said an NCB official.
The officials are investigating to identify the backward linkages in Thailand and forward linkages in India in order to neutralise the entire syndicate.
