Hyderabad: Woman injured in clash over paying house rent

Incident occurs after house owner cuts off power supply, asks tenants to pay rent

Hyderabad: A woman suffered knife injuries when two groups clashed over an issue pertaining to paying of house rent, at Attapur on Sunday.

According to police, a family has been staying on rent at a house in Hassanagar in Attapur. However, for the last two years, the family allegedly has not been paying rent, following which a week ago the house owner got the power supply to the house disconnected.

On Sunday evening, the owner asked the tenants to vacate the house.

The tenant family attacked the owner, following which the latter’s relatives attacked the tenants with a knife.

A woman suffered a bleeding wound on her hand in the attack.

“Two cases have been registered and an investigation going on,” an official from the Attapur police station said.
